Manitoba Human Rights Commission’s 2010-2011 course schedule announced

Published on September 9, 2010 by Donna Seale

Well, it has been quite some time since I’ve posted anything — last time I wrote it was still summer and now it’s fall!   Thanks to those of you who have been checking in with me to see how I have been doing.  It has been a very challenging summer and the past few weeks have been particularly trying.  But, I’m very happy to announce that after six long months of meetings and negotiations, late next week my sister will be moving into a house my husband and I have purchased for her and, with the assistance of a community agency, she will be starting a brand new life living independently for the first time ever.  It’s an exciting, scary and overwhelming time for all of us but I know it is the best move for everyone.  I, for one, am looking forward to not being so exhausted and being back to somewhat of a normal routine!

Speaking of getting back to routines, since kids across the country are in back-to-school mode this week I figured it would be timely to mention the Manitoba Human Rights Commission’s course schedule for the upcoming 2010-2011 session.   The Commission has kindly asked me back, once again, to teach the following courses:

The one new item for me is that I have expanded my How to Investigate a Human Rights Course from one day to two days, due to many requests received from those who have attended in the past.  I’ve updated my material and generally refreshed the look of the course so I’m looking forward to heading into this new ‘school year.’

Please check out the Commission’s Education brochure 2010 2011 for further details, including how to sign up.  Please note that the courses fill up fast so if you have any interest, be sure to get in touch with the Commission as soon as you can.   I’ll look forward to seeing you there!
